Russian auto business was strongly oriented and tied to import autocomponents. However, this dependence leads to vulnerability.

Today, no one is secret for anyone that China, which has become more than 10 years ago, has increased Japan for more than 10 years ago, and the United States selling cars. In the past years, superiority over the American market has already become almost twofold — and this state of affairs, even in the current recession, apparently will not change. But the most important thing is not even in this. And in the fact that the PRC has become a material base of production not only cars, but also autocomponents.

In general, from China to many countries there is a huge amount of components, spare parts and accessories for astronomical sums. While there are numbers last year. In January-November 2019, only in the United States, they were exported in the amount of $ 8.8 billion dollars. In addition, Japan became an exporter of autocomponents for $ 2.9 billion, Mexico for $ 1.9 billion, and even Germany received from the amount of $ 1.5 billion from the South Korea list ($ 1.2 billion). And in the sixth place is the Russian Federation. Also in the list of recipients of Canada, Thailand, United Kingdom, India, Brazil and France. Moreover, it is interesting to note that in the center of the country in the Hubei province glorified on the whole world, as well as the province of Hubei, a considerable share of Chinese production both cars and autocomponents are concentrated. According to the expert Sergey Burgasliyev, about 9% of the total volume of production of the PRC cars and approximately 13-15% of the production of components from Hubai.

Therefore, when, due to known events, production in these factories was stopped, this was reflected in the established supply chain, the logistics of which binds the PRC to almost the whole world. True, a month later, the assembly conveyors were stopped almost everywhere. And here it immediately became an obvious «weak link» of global production, its interdependence of emergencies similar to the current one.

What does this mean for the Russian auto business? Burgazliev brought such data that the domestic KAMAZ in the PRC purchases more than 100 nomenclature positions, which account for 35-40% of the total volume of machine collectors in quantitative terms. These are turbines, cardan shafts and crossmen, connecting rods, switchgears, starters, generators, steering hydraulicers, parts of electrical equipment.

The main asset of the Sollers group (UAZ) imports from the PRC of 45 nomenclature positions, which is 30% of the volume of machine collectors in quantitative terms. This is a gearbox, electronics components, electrical components, multimedia, brake discs.

Naturally, it was not possible to quickly change the suppliers from any automaker. This is actually a signal not only to automakers, but also suppliers. After all, today the Wuhan crisis is the first call. And if something like that or even more epic repeated, then not a very joyful perspective will open. Today, the intensity of passions about the pandemic in the PRC declined. The automotive industry factories began work. All the logistics chains are restored for the period of quarantine for two months. But this precedent showed not only interdependence in the global economy, but also its vulnerability.
